It was the last time the Dodgers will ever face the Houston Astros as part of the NL, as they’ll become part of the AL next season, and they made sure they left a lasting impression. The Dodgers got shut out 12-0, and tallied 3 errors and 2 wild pitches. Prior to today’s game, the Dodgers had only had 2 wild pitches and 7 errors in their first 15 games of the season.
Chad Billingsly only made it 3 1/3 innings and gave up 5 earned runs on 4 walks and 4 hits, one of which was a grand slam to Jordan Shafer in the bottom of the 2nd.
Kemp and Ethier both went 0 for 3, ending Kemp’s 10 game hitting streak. And Dee Gordon struck out twice.
It happens…It’s one of those games that you want to forget as quickly as possible.
The Dodgers end up going .500 on the road, losing two very close games to Milwaukee and winning 2 out of 3 at Houston.
They’ll have a 6 game homestand against the 10-5 Braves and the 12-4 Nationals starting tomorrow. Hopefully, the Dodgers are able to shake this one off, as they’ll face a little tougher competition.
